Windies All Rounder DJ Bravo announced his retirement from international cricket on Wednesday 24th Oct 2018. The all time favourite Chennai Super Kings player, had played his part of the Windies team in 2016.


The retirement note of the Bravo is as follows

“Today I want to confirm to the cricket world that I have officially retired from international cricket in all formats of the game. After 14 years when I made my debut for the West Indies, I still remember that moment I received the maroon cap before walking onto the Lord’s Cricket Ground against England in July 2004. The enthusiasm and passion I felt then, I have kept with me throughout my career.”

“However, I must accept that for me to preserve my longevity as a professional cricketer, I must do as others before have done, leave the international arena for the next generation of players.”


Dwayne Bravo played 40 tests, 164 ODIs and 66 T20s for Windies team. He also captained 1 Test Match, 36 ODIs and 6 T20s.

World T20Is

Dwayne Bravo proved himself as a T20 specialist and a remarkable allrounder by scoring 1000 runs in batting and also took 50 wickets in bowling. He made a special knock of 66* runs and also took 4 wickets in 2009 T20 world cup against India and in Lord`s. He was also a part of T20 world cup winning team in 2013 Edition.


As a bowler, he has taken 199 wickets which includes 1 5-wicket-haul and 6 4-wicket-hauls. And as a batsman, he scored 2 centuries and 10 half-centuries in 50 over format.


DJ Bravo took 86 wickets in Test arena with 2 5-wicket-hauls, and has scored 3 centuries with the best of 113.


Bravo a star of IPL played 122 matches for three teams MI(Mumbai Indians), CSK(Chennai Super Kings) and GL(Gujarat Lions). While playing in IPL, he scored 5 half centuries as a batsman and took 136 wickets with 2 4-wicket-hauls as a bowler. He was awarded 3 MOM(Man of the Match) awards. He was the Purple Cap Holder twice in the years 2013 and 2015. Among them, he took 32 wickets in the 2013 season and it is still the highest number of wickets in a season for the overall IPL edition. MoreoverBravo was part of the CSK`s winning team in 2010, 2011 and 2018.


In west indies Carribean Premier League(CPL), he captained for Trinbago Knight Riders team. Most importantly, he took the team to lift the CPL trophy thrice in 2015,2017 and 2018 as a captain. He was the 2015 CPL`s highest wicket taker of 28 wickets. DJ Bravo also holds the most wickets 97 in the overall CPL edition.

Even if we retires from the international cricket, he will continue to play T20 leagues around the world.
